Luis Fernando Trevino, a nationally board-certified physician assistant since January 2009, earned his first Bachelor of Science degree from Excelsior College while serving in the United States Army. He received his second Bachelor of Science degree and Master of Physician Assistant Studies degree from the University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Medicine in 2007 and 2008, respectively. Later, he completed his Doctor of Medical Science degree at the University of Lynchburg in December 2021. PA Trevino specialized in pain management initially with Dr. Bengali and Dr. Monis since 2015. In addition to his educational achievements, PA Trevino values spending time with his family and assisting others in achieving their health goals. 

PA Trevino enlisted in the United States Army immediately after September 11, 2001. He deployed to Iraq in 2003 participating in Operation Iraqi Freedom. PA Trevino was commissioned as a United States Army officer and deployed for his second tour in Iraq in January 2009 as the Battalions Senior Medical Officer. PA Trevino received numerous awards and acknowledgments while serving during peacetime and during combat deployments. He was honorably discharged from the US Army in December 2011. 

PA Trevino is originally from Alice, Texas, and has been a resident of San Antonio since 1994. He is also fluent in Spanish, and he enjoys traveling and spending time outdoors with his family. 

My approach to patient healthcare is a teamwork process. My patients express to me their ailments, concerns, and goals, and we then work together to develop a plan to appropriately treat their medical issues. As a healthcare professional, communication with my patients is key to helping them to minimize their discomfort. I genuinely listen to my patients and take their input into account when formulating their plan of care.
